Online Real Estate Auction Press Release
Next month, Real Estate Agent Nick Johnstone, will conduct the first online property auction in the affluent bayside suburb of Brighton, 12 km’s from Melbourne’s CBD. This event will signify the beginning of an exciting new era for the real estate industry.
“The internet provides an avenue to reach more bidders which translates into a potentially superior result for us as vendors.” (Nikki Hill, Property Owner).
The auction will take place using the standard property auction process. And as usual, bids will be able to be placed by those present at the auction. However, the auction will also be streamed via live webcast to potential buyers who, once registered, will be able to place bids online, as if they were at the auction in person.
“We are very excited to be involved in this premier event in Brighton,” (Nick Johnstone, Auctioneer and leading Real Estate Agent). “I am passionate about selling property in Brighton and being able to reach a wider audience at auction. The ability to do so via the internet, will potentially generate a better result for our vendor and make it simpler for the buyer.”
The use of innovative online technology provides convenience and anonymity to potential remote bidders. They will be provided with a platform to view and bid at the auction, simply by logging onto their computer.
The Online Real Estate Auction Platform
For Webtron, the company providing the technology to make this event happen, online auctions are business as usual. Webtron has been providing online auctions to a range of industries for over seven years, primarily for automotive and industrial equipment. Webtron also assisted in selling the first property via live webcast in Victoria, 2007. The Brunswick property was sold to a Western Australian buyer located in WA, using the online technology.
“My business is common sense. Using the internet allows us reach a greater audience. This increases bids and usually equates to higher prices” says Alex Hill, Managing Director of Webtron. “With so much business now taking place online, the real estate market can no longer ignore this medium.”
Potential bidders may be located in a different suburb, state or country. Webtron is currently making changes to its service to include foreign languages including Chinese, thereby widening markets even further.
With the constant growth of the online market, it is surprising that the real estate industry has not yet embraced the potential that this software provides. In the past, for the final offer to be successful, the bidder was required to sign and provide consideration in person. However this issue can be managed by appointing a limited power of attorney. For this purpose, the person may be a relative, friend or buyers’ advocate.
Perhaps it won’t be too long before Webtron’s Online Auction is a standard service vendors can choose as part of their marketing checklist, along with their choice of agent and internet advertising.
“How would you like to market your property online? Domain.com.au Marketing (✓), RealEstate.com.au Marketing (✓) and how about Webtron Online Auction Marketing?” (Alex Hill, Director of WebtronOnlineAuction.com)
